About Me
Hello. My name is Jennifer and I'm a scrapaholic....no wait....
Should I start with that? Do I really want to admit that I'm addicted to buying paper and glue and SVG files and Cricut cartridges and everything Tim Holtz? I guess I must because I started this blog...
I'm an accountant by day. Not the most exciting profession but it can be a little stressful at times. I'm also the devoted spouse of an active duty military member. I'm also the mother of a five month old baby, Nick (aka Sweet Baby).
I started scrapbooking in the fall of 2008. It started out simply enough; I had a few stamps, stamp pads, and a random assortment of paper and embellishments. I found that scrapping relaxed me in way that nothing else could. I was perfectly happy doing simple layouts and a few cards.
Then I saw the infomercial for the Cricut Expression.
At first I thought "Nah, I don't need that" but I liked the idea of being able to cut shapes with something other than scissor and my less than stellar cutting skills.
And I watched the infomercial again.
Only this time, my husband watched it with me. And he was sold in the first five minutes and declared that is what he was getting me for Christmas. When it finally arrived I think he was more excited for me to get it out of the box than I was.
It sat in my newly appointed craft room (our former shared office that my amazing husband WILLINGLY gave up his half of) for almost a month before I really tried to use it. At first I was confused. I didn't understand real dial size and could not figure out why none of my layers worked. Then something finally clicked.
I made a simple card. Then I cut a bunch of random flowers and shapes. Then I attempted Mickey from the Mickey and Friends cartridge. I knew I was in love.
Since then I have been a paper-related shopaholic. I spent 3 years amassing a collection of paper, embellishments and tools any paper hoarder would be proud of. I have collected cartridges like most women collect shoes. I am addicted to cutting machines and I am currently the proud, crafty parent of a Cricut Expression, Cricut Expression 2, Silhouette Cameo, and my absolute favorite, a Sizzix eClips.....and the red-headed stepchild of the crafting world, a Cricut Imagine.
Then, in 2010, we moved to the a tiny little town in Georgia. With nowhere to shop. So now I am forced to dig in to my stash. So if you see a project and can't find the paper used for it....that's probably why.
I finally decided in June 2011 that I needed a blog to share all my creations. But I rarely make scrapbook pages. Why? I make cards, mini albums, 3-D paper creations, and home decor items instead.
I'm currently on my second design team for A Jillian Vance Design, even though I'm only designing for them part time (an unfortunate side effect of the Sweet Baby).
So if you're still reading at this point, I thank you. And I beg you keep checking back here in the future. Hopefully something amazing I create will inspire you to go off and create your own amazing item.
