Ashley - August Birthday #1
Hi there!
August is a really busy month in my family. We have a birthday or anniversary almost every week. The week we skip we make up for it the next by having two! So here is my birthday card for my middle sister, Ashley.
This was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest that used one of the Martha Stewart Punch All Over the Page punches. I wanted to try my own version of this so I decided to play around with Cricut Craft Room.
Rather than try to cut the card and the cutouts, I just added the shadow layer for the ice cream cone on my mat. I then put a 6x12 piece of cardstock on the mat and cut. To line everything up I used the grid lines on the mat in Craft Room. The hardest part was finding a perfectly symmetrical shape in the Cricut library.
I sized my shadow layer for the ice cream cone slightly larger than it would have been to layer correctly with the rest of the ice cream so that it wouldn't get hung up on the popped ice cream cone in the middle of the card. I used pop dots on each layer of the ice cream cone inside and topped it off with some bling.
To help keep the card closed I added the little die from the {die}namic Duo die set from A Jillian Vance Design as well as a sentiment from her Basically Birthdays stamp set.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Simple Stories, Bazzill
A Jillian Vance Design: {die}namic Duo Die Set, Basically Birthydays stamp set
Cricut Craft Room
Cricut Sweet Treats Cartridge
Bling: Hero Arts, Recollections
