For My Peeps

Happy Thursday!

Well, this is my last week as full time member of the design team at A Jillian Vance Design. It's kind of sad but I'll still be working with them part time. I've been very busy between my "real" job and the Sweet Baby and I just haven't had the time I feel I need to fully devote to Jillian and her wonderful stamps!

This week we are all making little Easter treats. I decided to make a box for Peeps because I LOVE them.!

I used the Classic Gift Boxes file from SVG Cuts and sized it down to fit a box of Peeps. Using basic shapes in eCal I made a Peep Bunny silhouette and added it to the top of the box. I then added a piece of clear acetate to the back side of the lid. It's actually deep enough that it holds two boxes of the bunny shaped Peeps so it would be perfect for a family treat.

I used a sentiment from the Peepster Stamp Set stamped onto the {die}namic Fancy Label Die. I cut slits on either end to thread my crinkle ribbon through.

And there you have it!

Tiny Easter Cards

Happy Thursday!

Thursday means design team day at A Jillian Vance Design! This week we are all making tiny Easter cards. By tiny I mean 3x3" cards. I LOVE to make tiny cards and I have two to share with you today.

For both cards I used the Peepster Stamp Set. It's such a cute set and it has the adorable little Peep-style bunny stamp that I just love.

My first card I used that cute little bunny and fussy cut around him. I then took the Easter Egg Treat Bag file from SVG Cuts and modified it in Silhouette Studio to make it into a little card. There is a feature in Silhouette Studio that allows you to "cut" a line through a shape to cut it in half. In this case I used it to "cut" the basic shape of the treat bag from the rest of the bag. I sized it down and the duplicated it and welded them together to come up with my fun, shaped tiny card.

I went very simple for my second card. I stamped the little egg in four different colors (Tim Holtz Seasonal Distress Inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Seedless Preserves, Peacock Feathers, and Picked Raspberry). I then embossed the with clear embossing powder. I used a pre-sized card base from Bazzill. I stamped my sentiment at the bottom.

Springtime In Paris

Hello!

Welcome to A Jillian Vance Design's Springtacular Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from Pam's Purple Loft, but if not that's ok. The full list of blogs will be further down in this post. Be sure to hit them all and leave comments for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the A Jillian Vance Design Store!

For my project I decided to make a 3-D shadow box using the Bonjour Paris Stamp Set

I used some forced perspective to line up the trees leading to my Eiffel Tower in the background. The paper for my shadow box is from Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe line. I used the 5x7" shadow box file and some little trees from the Silhouette Store.

My trees graduate down in size with the smallest being about 1" tall. They are all staggered with pop dots in between to give them the dimension I wanted for my forced perspective.

My little clouds are from the Mini Whimsical Balloons Stamp Set. I stamped them using Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry Seasonal Distress Ink. I then embossed them with clear embossing powder.

I stamped my Eiffel Tower on my background and then stamped it a second time, embossed it with clear embossing powder and fussy cut it. I added it over the first stamped tower with pop dots. I added a little heart jewel over the heart on the stamp. My sky and lawn were created using a sponge tool and Tim Holtz Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers, and Salty Ocean Seasonal Distress Inks.

I finished it off with a little sentiment stamped onto a die cut using the {die}namic Fancy Label Die.

Moxie Fab World Camera Craze Challenge

Happy Friday!

So I downloaded the Retro Camera Cut-It set from Lettering Delights a couple of months ago. I had this really cool idea for a slider card using the vintage Polaroid style camera and the Foto Frames die from A Jillian Vance Design. Then I saw the Moxie Fab World Camera Craze Challenge and I KNEW I had just the project!

Instead of cutting the layers for the camera, I used the print and cut SVG file and the Print and Cut feature on  my Silhouette Cameo. It worked perfectly!

On the bottom is my slider using the {die}velop Foto Frames die set. I stamped the border on the die cut with the Foto Frames Stamp Set and added the sentiment from {die}velop Everyday Fotos Stamp Set. Then I added a picture of the Sweet Baby taken when he was about a month old (he's making his "ooooo" face, which he doesn't do much now at 5 1/2 months) and two more little sentiment stamps from the {die}velop Baby Fotos Stamp Set.

I added some bling to the "flash" and some film strip washi tape accents to my card.

To cut the slit in my camera for the picture to slide out I used my craft knife and a ruler to cut a small hole in the mouth of the camera, adjusting until my picture would slide out without too much resistance but wouldn't fall out when the card is picked up.

Once I got the fit right I pulled it as far out as I wanted it to go then turned it over. I ran a strip of glue along the little top edge you see sticking up below and then added a scrap of paper the would catch on the lip when the picture is pulled out (I could NOT get a good picture of it when I was assembling this!).

And there you have it!

They're "Owl" So Cute...

Happy Thursday!

This week at A Jillian Vance Design we are releasing new stamps! YAY!

My set to "debut" is the brand new Owl So Cute Too Stamp Set and I've got three cards to share with you!

Yes, we are once again showcasing my less than stellar coloring skills. And no, I STILL can't master my Copics of my Tim Holtz Distress Markers....don't judge me! :)

First up I have a fun little mini card. I love little cards, there's just something fun about them!

My second card I used the new stamp set along with the awesome {die}velop Foto Frames die. This card was actually my wonderful hubby's idea. I've been in a bit of a creative funk lately and was just stuck. He looked at the stamp set and suggested this card and that spurred my creative juices. (Thank goodness! I've been avoiding my craft room for weeks!) I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the palm tree and the little waves, created the beach and sunset with Tim Holtz Seasonal Distress Inks, and then fussy cut my owl. He's stamped on brown cardstock and I used a white gel pen to highlight his feathers and his eyes.

And finally we have a little owl family. And my craptacular coloring....this is actually better than usual. Not quite sure how I managed that. I used my CTMH Watercolor Pencils since they're about all I can manage....but they did turn out cute!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Cardstock: Echo Park
Tim Holtz Seasonal Distress Inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry
Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Tea Dye, Vintage Photo
