For a Fix-It Dad

Happy Thursday!

This week at A Jillian Vance Design we are showcasing the Celebrate Dad stamp set.

For my project I used both my Cricut and my eClips. Here's what I came up with....

For the card I used Cricut Craft Room to make this shaped card using the Handy Man Cricut Lite cartridge. I added two shadow layers to my mat. I flipped the second shadow layer and welded it to the first at the handle for my card base. The chrome parts on the card are cut from some Quick Kutz adhesive foil I've had forever.

For the gift box I used SVG Cuts Ryan's Play Date kit. I made the Playful Box and decorated it as a tool box. I ran more of the Quick Kutz foil through my Cuttlebug for the diamond plate accents on the box.

Inside the lid I added a gift card pocket using A Jillian Vance Design's custom {die}signer Pocket Die.

Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Bumpin'

Happy Thursday!

This week at A Jillian Vance Design we are showcasing our new Baby Bump stamp set. This is a really fun set and is great for shower invitations or cards for the new mommy.

I decided to do Congratulations cards, one for a boy and one for a girl. For all the elements on the card I used my Cricut Imagine (for the first time in months!) and the Nursery Tails cartridge.

This stamp set is fun because it's got a couple of different options for the stamps to go in the middle of the circular sets.

Teachers and Grads

Happy Thursday!

This week at A Jillian Vance Design we are doing a mini-release of the new Teacher Treats and Con{GRAD}ulations stamp sets.

For my first project I created a little treat box for a teacher.

I made a basic box from a 12x12 sheet of cardstock. Finished size is 4x4 square. The back piece is 4" wide and 10" high. I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink. I used CTMH cardstock for the box and Graphic 45 An ABC Primer for the decoration on the box.

I mounted the ruler paper on black cardstock and used pop dots to give it some dimension when attaching it to the box. I did the same for the sentiment on the front.

The stamped sentiment is from the new Teacher Treats stamp set that is being released tomorrow!

For my second project I made a diamond fold card using the Con{Grad}ulations stamp set. I thought that the top of the card would work perfectly for graduation cap.

I used white embossing powder to add the sentiments to the card.

The tassel is attached to the card using a brad from the Echo Park Happy Days collection.

And how about that tassel? Photo tutorial below.....

I started by wrapping Charcoal bakers twine from the Twinery around a fork. (See that awesome twine holder? My husband made that for me - for much less that they sell for. If you are interested send me an email-he's willing to make more for a very reasonable price!)

I then wrapped more twine around the top to create the tassel.

I threaded some twine through one of the needles from my Sew Easy and threaded it through the top portion of the tassel.

Clip the ends of the twine to create the tassel.

And there you have it!

Cupcake Lever Card

Hello again!

And this is the last of my birthday cards! This is from SVG Cuts Happy Birthday to You set. I used the cupcake box from this set for a post last week. I sized this card smaller than the file. I took it from about 7x4" to 3x5".

All of the patterned paper for this card came from the DCWV Celebrations paper stack. The colors in that stack are so much fun. I used A Jillian Vance Design Charming Occasions stamp with an Epiphany Crafts round 25 bubble cap for the sentiment on the front.

This is a lever card which I think just ups the cuteness factor on this.

Inside is a little spot to sign the card and write a note!

Birthday Boy Button Card

Hi!

Yes, this is birthday card number four....Only one more after this! For this card I did a boy's themed version of my button card from earlier. I used the same lettering delights set and the i-Top tool to make the button.

This was much simpler to add the button to since all I needed to do was poke a couple of holes in the sun and attach the button!

Supplies:

i-Top tool and 28mm Buttons
Lettering Delights Graphic
Cricut, Everday Paper Dolls (wave border), Doodlecharms (sun), Life is A Beach (boat)

American Crafts Chestnut Ink
Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Ink

Butterflies....

Hey there!

Here is another birthday card! I went for simple again with this one. As in it was simple to make but looks a little more complicated!

I started with white base to make a 5x5" card. I used the butterfly Martha Stewart Punch All Over the Page punch to add my butterflies. I trimmed small pieces of patterned paper and mounted them on the backside of the card so they show through where I punched the butterflies.

I stamped "Happy" from the Close to My Heart Happy Birthday stamp set inside three of the butterflies then added another sentiment from that set on the pink strip in the middle of the card.

Inside I added two pink panels to write a note (and hide the back of my patterned scraps on the front of the card!). These I stamped with brown ink with some of the Tim Holtz Visual Artistry stamps from Michael's.

Supplies:

Bazzill Diamond Cardstock
Recollections Bling
K & Co patterned paper
Tim Holtz Faded Burlap Distress Ink
American Crafts Chestnut Ink
