Summer Birthday Card

One more summer birthday card!

This one was simple. No Cricut, just paper and elements from the Echo Park Summer Days paper pack.

These are all cardstock sticker elements that I've adhered using pop dots. I use my powder bag to eliminate the static when embossing to de-sticky the backs of the stickers.

So there is also this new feature in the IOS version of Cricut Design Space called SnapMat. Basically, you can take a picture of your cutting mat in the app and then align what you want to cut or write over the paper you have on your cutting mat. In this case I used it to align where I wanted the sentiment written.

Sitch and Sew

Hello!

So this is my final August project. My mom just added sewing room on to her house so for her birthday I made her a little sewing shadow box. This was seriously so much fun to make! And the best part was....she didn't realize I made it. She thought I found it in a store somewhere. Best. Compliment. EVER!

This is just a 6" x 6" shadow box from Michaels. The spools inside are little wooden ones from the kids craft area at Michaels and then I wrapped them with washi tape and adhered them to the back of the box with black foam tape.

Initally, I just had the lettering with black vinyl but it just didn't have the right feel. I debated about changing it out for another color but decided to try etching it instead. If it didn't work I'd just go get another shadow box. I've never etched anything before so this was a whole new experience for me. It was SO easy!

See what I mean about it lacking something with just vinyl?

The etched look was so much better!

Cricut Dimensional Projects

August is over!!!!

Continuing on my August birthday/anniversary projects, today I have two of the Cricut Dimensional projects to share with you.

When Cricut first came out with their Christmas Dimensional Scenes I thought they were such a great idea. Then they came out with some tea party ones, fairy forest scenes, and then finally the European scenes. I knew this was perfect for my parents' anniversary and my mom's birthday.

Venice - Anniversary Card

One of their favorite places in the world to visit is Venice, Italy.  This scene has 15 layers of cardstock. The finished sized on this is approximately 7"x 9".

Such great detail!

Paris - Birthday for my Mother

My mom loves all things French. So much of her house is decorated in French style. This kind of reminded me of a project a did few years ago of a Paris shadow box. This one had 13 layers, so a tiny bit thinner. But this one came in at 10" x 8". Wow!
