How About Some Cake?

Happy Friday!

I have an extra project for you this week! Today is A Jillian Vance Design's design team coordinator, Ruby Aleman's birthday! Ruby's blog, Handcrafted Simply by Us is really great and she's got some great projects!

The rest of us at A Jillian Vance Design all made birthday cards for Ruby. I decided to make a flutter card.

This type of card can be kind of tricky. I laid out my card base using ECAL (SCAL for the eClips). I used the cupcake from SVG Cuts Happy Birthday To You kit. For each cupcake you need to cut two, making sure one of them is the mirror image so they will layer together seamlessly. You run a thread between the layers and the adhere that under the frame layer of the card.

A used the cake sentiment from Jillian's new Basically Birthdays stamp set. It's a good general birthday set and it has a some really great sentiments.

When you open the card the cupcakes on the threads "flutter" and twist .

Supplies:

A Jillian Vance Design Basically Birthdays Stamp Set
Echo Park Happy Days Cardstock, 12x12 and 6x6
