CCI Week #17 - A Holiday Treat Tower

Hello!

I've been quiet for the last week or so haven't I? I've been in a little bit of creative slump and decided to take a break from my craft room. But I think this week my mojo has come back and I think I'll have a productive weekend!

For my project this week over at Creative Critterz Imaginations I made a treat tower.

Is that cute or what? This is super simple - the whole project took maybe 15 minutes to print, cut and assemble. (Tying the twine around....totally different story)

The boxes are the hexagon box from Life's a Party. This cartridge has some great images and fun party favors like masks and whatnot. I love how the edges of the boxes are scalloped. The patterns are all from the Mr. Frosty pattern cartridge.

The boxes are sized at "9, 8", 6.5" and 5". The biggest thing to remember when making something like this that will be handled or transported is to use GOOD GLUE! My favorite is Scotch Quick Dry. It dries fast and clear and really holds up.

To add a little reinforcement to the bottoms of the bigger boxes I just added a couple of pieces of plain tape to the two edges that don't have the glued tabs.

(Not that you can see the tape in this second picture but I promise - it's there!)

How fun would this be to give to co-workers? It gives then something to snack on and it's relatively inexpensive to make.

Awesome idea!! It turned out great! For the large box-were you able to fit it on a 12x12 mat? Or do you need a 12x24? They look big in your pics! TFS! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

@crafts4aubree - With the Imagine you can't use the 12x24 mat so the largest one did fit on the 12x12 sized at 9". However-when I played with it in Cricut Craft Room I was able to make it bigger using the 12x12 mat. If you are making this with regular patterned paper and the Expression you can definitely make them a lot bigger.

@Lori-Awhhh...you are too sweet! Glad I could inspire you!

@Melissa - I had a blast visiting with you today! Honestly, I found the boxes on it by accident-I was looking for a round box. If you need any help with the Imagine let me know!
